By 2014 Dodge will have been manufacturing cars for 100 years. The company has come a long way since the Dodge brothers first manufactured the Dodge Model 30 in 1914.
Chrysler bought up the company in 1928 and has produced some great American vehicles over the years. Although a rare sight on our roads, we thought we would mark the occasion by recalling three classic models that we love.
The original (and most people would deem the best) model to be the 1970 version.
The R/T (Road Track) 440 version, with a 7.2 litre Hemi was a particularly great car. It even starred in the movie “Vanishing Point”
The 2nd generation produced between 1968 and 1970 is the most recognisable. It featured in classic films such as “Bullitt”, the “Fast & Furious” franchise and who could forget the General Lee from “Dukes Of Hazzard”!
The first generation car was produced between 1992 and 1995. It is brutal no frills performance car. It can reach 0-60 in just 4 seconds from its V10 truck derived engine. “Barn door” engineering at its best.
If you are lucky enough to own one of these, another classic or modified American car, then we would love to hear from you. Give us a call on 0845 250 8279 and we would be happy to discuss your insurance needs.
