Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services are proud of the relationships we have built up within the classic car community and we will always try to lend our support wherever we can. We were delighted therefore to be invited to the Volvo Enthusiasts Club Founders Day event held on Sunday 6th July.
After a gap of several years since the club last held a national gathering for club members, club founder Kevin Price thought that the twenty-fifth anniversary of the setting up of the club would be the ideal opportunity to get together club members old and new.
Held at the Jinny Ring Craft Centre near Bromsgrove the event was well attended, so much so that thoughts have already turned to the 2015 event.
On the day Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services were proud sponsors and providers of the twelve Founders Day awards which included ‘Furthest Distance Travelled’ and ‘Best Commercial Vehicle’ as well as ‘Best in Show’. After a few words from club chairman Colin Hughes and club founder Kevin, Cherished Vehicles Insurance’s Retail Development Manager, Graeme Hamilton, was invited to present the days prizes.
Pride of place went to John Kemp who’s 1968 Volvo 131 was awarded ‘Best In Show’, with Andy Panayi’s 1965 Volvo 1800S runner up. The award for ‘Furthest Distance Travelled’ went to Des Rameaux who travelled 165 miles in his Volvo V70 to take part. Robert Hughes’s 1987 Volvo 240 Pickup won ‘Best Volvo Commercial’.
Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services would like to thank everyone who attended the event for making us very welcome. It was great to meet new friends from around the country, many of whom we hope will become customers in the future.
