First time buyer or even expert collector of classic cars, we’re sure you know a huge amount about what it takes to be the proud owner of an old Jaguar or perhaps a seasoned Ford Cortina Mark I. But how many of you would think about a 1986 Land Rover or one of its cousins?

It probably wasn’t the first thought that crossed your mind when you considered adding to your classic car collection but it shouldn’t be the last. Owning a Classic Military vehicle can actually be a smart move, as well as rewarding.

A lot of classic military vehicles are in great condition, after all, they would have to be in order to serve the purpose they were built and chosen for. So before you turn off of the idea, have a look at some of the examples below and make your choice from there!

1954 M37 Dodge – A four-wheel drive truck used widely by the US in the Korean War, the M37 with 78bhp certainly offers the practicality as well as the thrill of a classic military vehicle.

1940 Austin K2/Y – This heavy military ambulance was used by all services during WWII right up until the Korean War. Despite being relatively rare to this day, you could be the proud owner.

1985 AM General M998 HMMWV – A monster of a vehicle with a curb weight of almost 2.5 tonnes, this first batch of military Humvee catches the attention of any onlooker. It’s 6.2L V-8 diesel engine really makes it a force to be reckoned with and most importantly, a whole lot of fun.
