Its Valentines weekend and what better way to spend your 15th February than turning up to the first major show in the VW calendar, DubFreeze.
Cherished Vehicle Insurance Services landed bang on time to set up at 8am feeling at home amongst the crowds with staff cars VW Golf V6 4motion and VW Passat being included in the car park.
The show, held at Bingley Hall and set within Staffordshire County Showground never ceases to amaze with almost every conceivable classic Volkswagens turning up on mass for the main day on Sunday.
Walking around the main hall you see the impressive trade stand presence which also spills up to a balcony floor catering for all your VW needs from Body Panels to Apparel, from Wheels to full engines. There has been a steady rise in restoration firms within the scene and you were spoilt for choice with help on hand to discuss projects large and small.
Venturing into the adjoining halls you have an auto jumble to your left, an Aladdin’s cave for that elusive spare part and further along to the right, the Show and Shine. The Show and Shine had some superb examples including member’s cars from the Mk1 Golf Owners club, one car actually winning best in show!!
You can sometimes forget that the show isn’t just in this hall…
Outside you have huge areas to show vehicles for sale and really cool club show stand displays. It was great to see Latebay, EarlyBay, plus hook up with the Volkswagen Owners Club GB and Mk1 Golf Owners Club.
Amongst the vehicles offered for sale this year was a Porsche 912, couple of Type 3 Fastback’s, more than a few VW campers (whatever tickled you fancy – Splitty or Bay window, slammed, modified or standard), Beetles and Karmann Ghia’s.
Anyway less waffling here’s a few more photos from the show…
